What a PE ball valve is and how it works
A PE ball valve contains a ball with a bore through it. A quarter turn of the handle lines the bore up with the pipe so water flows, or turns it across the pipe so the flow is shut off completely. That makes it quick and simple to open and close.
The valve is made for polyethylene pipelines and has compression ends: the pipe is held by a nut, a grip ring and an O-ring, so no welding or fusion machine is needed. The body is polypropylene and does not rust.
Irrigation and drinking-water use, and the types
PE ball valves are used mostly in pressurised irrigation networks for orchards and farms and on drinking-water service branches, wherever a branch or a section of the network has to be opened and closed on its own. The simple compression connection makes installation in the field easy.
The valve is supplied with a metal or a polymer handle, with compression ends on both sides or with one compression end and one threaded end. The threaded version is for places where the valve has to connect to a threaded part, such as a pump outlet or metal fittings.
PE ball valve sizes and how to order
PE ball valves are supplied in the most-used sizes of 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 63, 75, 90 and 110 mm. The valve size is the outside diameter of the PE pipe it connects to.

PE Compression Ball Valve — FAQ
How is a PE ball valve connected to the pipe?
With a compression joint: the pipe goes into the valve end and tightening the nut makes the grip ring and O-ring hold and seal it. No welding is needed.
What is the body of a PE ball valve made of?
The body is polypropylene, and the valve is used on polyethylene pipelines for irrigation and drinking water.
What is the difference between compression-both-ends and one threaded end?
A compression valve connects to PE pipe on both sides; the threaded version connects to PE pipe on one side and to a threaded part on the other.
Which PE ball valve sizes are supplied?
The most-used sizes from 20 to 110 mm, with a metal or polymer handle.
