Deep Well Infrastructure Engineering with Polyethylene

Equipping deep groundwater wells in saline, mineralized, or acidic aquifers poses critical corrosion challenges for traditional materials. This category provides two specialized solutions: Well Casing Pipes (Product P007) to stabilize borehole walls against geological collapse, and Submersible Pump Riser Pipes (Product P008) to convey pumped discharge up to the wellhead.

Unlike carbon steel casings that suffer rapid electrochemical corrosion and encrustation, high-density polyethylene provides total chemical immunity and sustained hydraulic cross-sections in subterranean aquifers.

Blank & Slotted Well Casing Pipes (P007)

Well Casing Pipe (P007) is manufactured in 6 m and 12 m straight lengths in blank and slotted configurations. Blank solid sections are deployed across non-producing stratigraphies to seal off shallow contaminants, while slotted sections sit opposite water-bearing formations to admit inflow with minimum entrance velocity.

Slot geometry, slot width, and open-area ratios are configured according to gravel pack sizing and supplier manufacturing specifications. Structural resistance to external hydrostatic collapse pressure is the defining criterion when calculating casing wall thickness.

High-Pressure Submersible Pump Riser Pipes (P008)

Submersible Pump Riser Pipe (P008) is manufactured from virgin PE100 compound under ISO 4427 in diameters from OD 63 to 160 mm. The product is restricted to heavy-wall series SDR 11, SDR 9, and SDR 7.4 to handle pressure classes from PN16 up to PN25.

In addition to containing continuous discharge pressure and cyclic starting surges, the riser column must withstand the axial tensile load imposed by the suspended submersible motor, pump bowl assembly, and dynamic water column. Precision threaded or flanged adapters are utilized at the pump discharge and wellhead interface.

PE Well Casing & Pump Riser Pipes — Frequently Asked Questions

What are the advantages of PE well casing over steel casing?

Polyethylene casing will not rust or suffer galvanic corrosion in saline waters, maintains smooth surfaces resistant to mineral encrustation, and its lighter weight simplifies borehole insertion.

Which pressure class is recommended for submersible pump risers?

Due to combined internal pressures, start-up surge transients, and the tensile weight of the suspended pump, risers are specified in heavy classes ranging from PN16 up to PN25.

How are well casing slot dimensions determined?

Slot width and spacing are coordinated with gravel pack envelope grading and aquifer particle size distributions to prevent sand pumping while maximizing specific well capacity.
