What is power cable duct?
Power cable duct is a polyethylene pipe through which low- and medium-voltage power cables, street lighting and control cables run underground. It protects cables from mechanical damage, soil pressure, moisture and later excavation, and lets cables be replaced or added without digging again.
Polyethylene is electrically insulating, does not rust and lasts well in wet and saline soils. This product comes in three constructions: solid wall, single-wall corrugated (flexible) and double-wall corrugated.
Which construction should you choose?
Single-wall corrugated duct is very flexible and suits winding routes and entries into buildings and panels. Double-wall corrugated duct has a smooth inner wall for easy cable pulling and a corrugated outer wall to carry soil load, and is used in urban routes and under roads. Solid-wall duct is chosen for long straight runs and long cable pulls.
The duct must be large enough for the cable to be pulled without snagging, with room for extra cables if needed. Give the cable diameter and count in the quote form for a size recommendation.
Installation and supply
Lay the duct on a stone-free sand bed, place electrical warning tape above it and backfill in layers. Cap the ends until cabling and leave a draw rope inside to make pulling easier. Keep clearances from other utilities as required by the power distribution company.
Depending on size and construction, the product is supplied in 50 m, 100 m and 200 m coils or 6 m bars. For a quotation, enter the construction, diameter and length in the form on this page.

PE Cable Duct Pipe — FAQ
How does flexible corrugated duct differ from double-wall duct?
Single-wall corrugated duct is more flexible and suits winding routes. Double-wall duct has a smooth inner wall and carries more soil load, so it suits routes under roads.
How do I choose the duct size?
The duct must leave room for easy pulling and extra cables. Enter cable diameter and count in the quote form for our recommendation.
How is cable duct supplied?
In 50 m, 100 m and 200 m coils or 6 m bars, depending on diameter and construction.
Is PE duct suitable for medium-voltage cable?
PE duct is used for mechanical protection of low- and medium-voltage cables underground. Follow the local distribution company's rules for depth and clearance.
